How do I get a Clearcash Card?
Getting a Clearcash Card is easy. There is no credit check and you don't need a bank account: all you need to do is Register your details.
Once you've filled in the Clearcash online form you'll need to load your Clearcash eAccount. The Card and Registration Fee will be deducted from your initial load.
The next step is to verify your email address by clicking a link in the email they will send you.
Clearcash will then post your Clearcash Prepaid MasterCard separately to your registered address and provide you with an activation code.
You should receive your Clearcash Card within 14 days of application. Once received, you then need to activate it by logging in to the Clearcash website and entering your activation code and 16-digit card number.
Your Clearcash Prepay Card and eAccount will then be active and you're ready to go!
The Card and Registration Fee £4.50 will be deducted from the amount you first Load into your eAccount. This fee covers the cost of manufacture and despatch of your Clearcash Card, along with the administrative cost of setting up your eAccount. Anything remaining in your eAccount, after the Card and Registration Fee has been deducted (along with the Load Fee), forms your balance.
What information do I need to register with Clearcash?
You will need to provide Clearcash with:
- Your name
- A valid email address
- Your home address
- Your birth date
This information enables them to verify your identity and protect the security of your eAccount. They will also ask you to create a password for your eAccount and choose two security questions for use in its management.
Email is the primary form of communication Clearcash have with you, so it's important that they verify your email address as being accurate and belonging to you.
If you have lived at your current address for less than three years, Clearcash may contact you to ask for additional identification, such as a Council Tax document or a utility bill.
When you open a ClearCash iCount, you are automatically enrolled for FREE Purchase Protection Insurance Cover on all purchases made using your card if you choose a pay monthly card. If you choose a pay as you go card, then this cover can be added for a small annual charge.
With your ClearCash Prepaid MasterCard Card, only the funds that are loaded onto the card can be spent but you can use the card wherever you see the MasterCard Acceptance Mark. In addition, you can also pay bills which can only be paid by internet banking or by standing order.
ClearCash BudgetMaster tools allow you to track your planned expenditure against what you actually spent and take action. Remember, if things get a bit much for you, then our experienced money advisors are only a phone call away.
